Public Information Meeting announcing
the Locally Preferred Alternative (LPA) is
tentatively set for early summer 2008

The alternatives that moved forward after the First Level Screening, First Screen Alternatives and Revised Study Area Map are carefully being evaluated based on criteria such as ridership forecasts, operating plans, cost effectiveness and financial feasibility, analysis of social and environmental impacts, and supportive land uses.

As the Alternative Analysis progresses through the screening process and the evaluation of criteria are applied, options within the wide range of alternatives are eliminated until there is a solution—a Locally Preferred Alternative (LPA). It is anticipated that the next round of public meetings will be held early summer 2008. The details will be posted on the website when they are finalized.

Business, Civic, & Other Special Interest Group Meetings

Organized groups interested in learning more about the study can request to have a project team representative speak at civic or neighborhood meetings. If you would like the project team to address your organization, please contact: Mr. Steve Ernst at 815-967-6734.

In addition, focus groups and public surveys of transportation needs are being performed as a part of this study.

Newsletters/Meeting Handouts

Newsletters will be printed over the course of the study. These publications will feature the latest project news and information. Past issues will be made available in the Information Center.
