What are the Next Steps?
As the Alternatives Analysis progresses through the screening process and the evaluation of criteria are applied, options within the wide range of alternatives are eliminated until there is a solution—a Locally Preferred Alternative (LPA). It is anticipated that the next round of public meetings announcing the LPA will be held early summer 2008 and the details will be posted on the website when they are finalized.
The required environmental study will begin immediately after the LPA and will take approximately one year to complete. The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) must approve the findings prior to giving authorization to advance this project to the next major phase which is called preliminary engineering.
